These comprehensive courses have been specifically developed to meet the Massachusetts Board of Certification of Operators of Drinking Water Supply Facilities “Policy for Training Requirements to Sit for Exams” (DWB 2010, Effective 1/1/12).

In-depth content will be presented, session-by session, via a modular instructional design. Each module (session) will build on the previous module. A “drill and practice” approach will be followed and hands-on exercises will be incorporated whenever appropriate to foster the mastery of identified learning outcomes. The specific content of each “building block” module can be reviewed in the outlines for each course that follows.

Participants will learn required information and develop critical thinking skills to assist them in preparing to operate and maintain a drinking water system. Course content will be based on the Association of Boards of Certification (ABC) Need to Know Criteria used to create standardized distribution operator examinations throughout the U.S. Whenever possible, a “hands-on” instructional approach will be implemented, integrated with traditional lecture and interactive group discussion.
